指揮庫森，2006年獲德國指揮大獎，2007年獲聘德國Schleswig-Holstein歌劇院音樂總監，呂紹嘉在漢諾威歌劇院服務時，庫森為旗下駐團指揮。作曲家荀貝格和柯恩哥德兩人年輕時均受到馬勒的鼓舞，同為澤姆林斯基的學生，因逃避納粹兩人都選擇落腳美國。年長的荀貝格後來成為現代音樂的前鋒，柯恩哥德為了生計投身好萊塢譜作電影配樂。《五首管絃樂小品》是荀貝格正式向無調性音樂靠攏的作品，作品雖然只有短短的16分鐘，卻宣告一個新時代的來臨。柯恩哥德的小提琴協奏曲，1947年由小提琴大師海飛茲與聖路易交響樂團首演，主要獻給他的「師母」馬勒之妻愛爾瑪。

In 2006, Mihkel Kütson won the German Conductor’s Prize and, during the 2007/2008 season, he became chief conductor of the Schlewig-Holstein Landestheater. When Maestro Lü Shao-Chia led the Niedersächsische Staatstheater Hannover as Music Director, Kütson served as Resident Conductor. Schönberg and Korngold also shared some things in common: they were both inspired by Gustav Mahler at a young age; both were students of Alexander Zemlinsky; and both immigrated to the US to escape Nazi persecution. Schönberg became a pionner of modern music while Korngold devoted himself to film scores for Hollywood. Schönberg’s Five Pieces for Orchestra is his first official atonal work. With a short duration of 16 minutes, it proclaims the inception of a new era. Korngold’s Vioin Concerto in D major was premiered in 1947 by violinist Jascha Heifetz and the Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra. The concerto was dedicated to Alma Mahler, widow of Korngold’s childhood mentor Gustac Mahler.
