太平洋文化基金會藝術中心將於2009年9月5日至9月26日推出旅美藝術家郭正雍的【驚艷剎那之美】攝影創作個展，此次展覽包含了「倒影系列」攝影作品之一 <爭峰-倒影23> ( Reflections on Reality #23 ) 的作品，此作品融合了芝加哥建築特色與濃厚的人文氣息，因此獲得美國總統歐巴瑪辦公室青睞，並在其華府參議員辦公室內懸掛展出。

本次展出作品以「倒影」為切入點，運用特定的反射媒介轉譯那些生命中稍縱即逝的剎那，紀錄了永恆的光亮，透過影像創作為觀者建構起的橋梁，使每一個聚焦不僅是紀錄著我們對現實生活中那些被忽略的瑰麗，更將所有的感動與美麗、真實與夢幻，都凝結在瞬間，著實令人省思回味。

在「倒影系列」作品中，郭正雍運用不同媒介物來捕捉影像，人在異鄉面對語言的隔閡以及離鄉的寂寞。在不同的語言轉譯過程中，無法完整的表達精確的涵意或是詮釋想要傳達的情境，他將這種體驗轉而應用在倒影系列影像的創作上，呈現每一個特殊情境與場景的觀察及感受，影像是他，是觀者的橋，通往的是意境，是人們對日常生活事物曾未有過的感覺及想像。透過相機讓旅居海外的攝影師郭正雍在不同文化與不同視野的背後，尋找一個能引起共鳴與認同的影像。

太平洋文化基金會以提昇藝文生活品質，促進祥和社會，並增益國際與地區間之互相瞭解與友誼為辦理活動之宗旨。此次邀請旅美藝術家郭正雍把在美國的生活體現以及在美所學帶回台灣，讓大家感受他攝影藝術的創作、超俗的展出方式，更歡迎大家鑑賞他的【倒影】主題作品。

【unsuspected revelations】

 A Solo Exhibition by 郭正雍 Cheng-Yung Kuo

Pacific Culture Foundation’s Art Center is pleased to present 【unsuspected revelations】, a solo exhibition by 郭正雍 Cheng-Yung Kuo, who recently received his MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.  The exhibition will include the COMPETE (Reflections on Reality # 23) from his "Reflection" series photography images. COMPETE, an integration of the Chicago architectural style with strong humanities was favored by President of the United States, Barack Obama, and was displayed in the Washington D.C. Obama’s office when he was the Illinois Senator. 

The works on display used "reflections" as the breakthrough point, using a specific reflection of the medium to translate fleeting moments in life and recorded those eternal lights.  Through the image creations, a bridge for the audience is constructed.  Not only does 郭正雍 Cheng-Yung Kuo records these sights of richness in each focus, but he also condenses the instant of beauty, truth, and fantasy, which invoke both self reflection and idiosyncrasy.

In “Reflection” series, 郭正雍 Cheng-Yung Kuo uses different vehicle to capture images derived from his own personal experience while he was in a foreign environment, battling both linguistic adjustments and the ever - increasing longing for the warmth of home.  These feelings were difficult to express verbally, and they serve as inspirations for 郭正雍 Cheng-Yung Kuo’s works.

Pacific Cultural Foundation’s goal is to enhance the cultural quality of life and promote social harmony, as well as gain the international and inter-regional mutual understanding and friendship as the purpose of processing activities.  This time we are inviting the artist, 郭正雍 Cheng-Yung Kuo, to share his reflections of his life in the United States, as well as his works from the United States back to Taiwan.   Let people see his creation of photographic art, things from a different perspective and things they never could have imagined in 【unsuspected revelations】.
