傑利•尤斯曼是20世紀超現實主義攝影大師。他以一種「後視覺化」(post-visualization)的手法，呈現所謂“成像後”的攝影美學。透過傳統暗房技法，尤斯曼以多架放大機疊合、遮光、投影、中途曝光等後製技巧，將不同底片上的影像完美疊合成一連串片段的混合畫面，出神入化，充滿變幻影像的神秘與驚奇。此展從尤斯曼近二千幅作品中選出72件自1958年至2008年間的經典作品，其後製影像元素來自於現實世界的物件，如雲、海、石、以及人體、雙手等元素，敘述性則從時間、記憶、啟示、夢想、劇場、對話、祈禱、突變等視覺語法，創造了一個充滿細節、無法存在的變幻世界。

Jerry Uelsmann is known as one of the masters of surrealist photography of the 20th century, and his "post-visualization" technique is able to thoroughly capture the aesthetics of a photograph. Employing traditional darkroom methods, Uelsmann uses multiple enlargers to create complicated post-production effects, including overlay, dodging, projection, and solarization. He also combines images from different negatives in a single image, enabling him to transform his clever ideas into mysterious, amazing, illusory images. This Museum has specially selected more than 70 of Uelsmann's representative works from 1958 to 2008. Featuring images of real-world objects, such as cloud, ocean, rock, human body, and hands, Uelsmann’s works assemble narratives from time, memory, apocalypse, dream, theater, dialogue, prayer, and abstract features, and construct illusory individual virtual worlds.
